Adolescent Escape is a safe space for adolescents who are struggling mentally and need someone to talk to. The project prioritizes privacy and intimacy while empowering the local community of young people in Toronto.
The goal is to provide functional and beautiful spaces for all inhabitants to enjoy. Inclusivity is a topic that has become more frequent as time progresses, and this project establishes a comforting and welcoming place for children and young adults.
Users are greeted with essential amenities, including a check-in and security desk, public gathering areas, consultation rooms, and quiet rooms that support quick, private counselling when necessary.
Moving to the second level, the design focuses on community and belonging through a main lounge, smaller adjacent lounge spaces, and larger areas for organized events and gatherings.
